In 1935, Herbert Greeson saw a need for chair and table rentals in the Syracuse area and started a business called Syracuse Chair Rental. Shortly afterwards, with faster growth in mind he added a complete line of office furniture and formed Hurbson Office Furnishings Inc. Both businesses continued to prosper and grow. In 1960, Herbert's son Stephen joined the business and a stronger emphasis was placed on the faster growing office furniture segment. Around the 1970's the Syracuse Chair Rental made a decision to close, this was due to the availability of disposable party goods. From that point on, full effort was given to growing and enhancing the office furniture business. In 1989, Steve's son Neil joined Hurbson making it the oldest family owned office furniture company in Central New York. Today the company represents one of the industry's premier manufacturers, Knoll Inc, and continues to look for ways to add more value for its clients. In 2011, with that exact intent in mind Hurbson merged with Just the Right Stuff. The new company is now the only company in Central New York to offer office furnishings, printing, promotional products, and apparel under one roof.
